The OVERLEAF project will participate in the 24th International Conference “New Cryogenic and Isotope Technologies for Energy and Environment”-EnergEn 2023, to be held in Băile Govora.
The conference will cover five distinct topics:
- Hydrogen Energy Technologies
- Battery Technologies
- Material Science for Energy and Environment
- Isotopes in Environmental Studies and Life Quality Applications
- Tritium R&D and Technological Transfer for Fusion and Fission
Daniela Ion-Ebrasu, from the hosting entity, the National Institute for Cryogenics and Isotopic Technologies (ICSI), will present a paper on hydrogen storage studies conducted through OVERLEAF.
The European aviation industry is striving to significantly reduce emissions in the near future. However, despite advancements in fuel efficiency, the environmental footprint of air travel remains. Thus, the industry is considering hydrogen as a potential sustainable fuel, but the challenge of its safe storage is still unresolved. This paper explores polymers as potential solutions for hydrogen storage in aviation.
