Dear Reader,

The OVERLEAF project has the pleasure of presenting its achievements halfway through the first year since our departure.

In the past months, all the OVERLEAF technical partners have worked hard on defining key performance indicators, they selected candidate materials, and defined design principles for the low-pressure liquid hydrogen (H2) storage system. ACITURRI, our coordinator, has developed the first version of the tank prototype with an eye on its manufacturing viability. ICSI analysed the prototype, and UdG assessed its thermofluidic dynamics and performed a structural analysis.

Our report on the key performance indicators is already online, and you can read it here.

On this basis, partners can now start work on the manufacture of both the inner and outer tanks, including the development of insulators. Even though the path to delivery of the components is still quite long, the year 2023 should see interesting intermediate results from all the partners.

The H2 crew is growing, and we’ll welcome our Horizon Europe sister projects in the upcoming editions. We are sure they have many things going on, and we can’t wait to feature their news.

Also, don’t miss our project video – it will be online soon. Stay on board by following us on Twitter and LinkedIn.

Enjoy your reading!
